BREWSTER -- Murray County Central's Kate Robinson blasted a pair of balls over the fence Thursday, helping Murray County Central claim a huge 33-5 Red Rock Conference softball victory over Southwestern United.

Robinson's three-run homer in the top of the first inning started the game's scoring and sparked a nine-run frame for the Rebels (4-1, 5-3) and her grand slam highlighted an 11-run second inning.

The Rebels slapped a total of 26 hits in the game and were also aided by 15 walks and eight Wildcat errors.

Robinson finished 4-for-5 with a total of seven RBI's, while MCC teammates Abby Van Meveren (4-for-5, two doubles), Steph Alhschlager (3-for-3, double, four RBI's) and Maddy Robinson (3-for-3) also had big days at the plate.

Four other players -- Elissa Reinsma, Dani Onken, Tara Onken (a pair of doubles) and Alyssa Claar -- had two hits each for the Rebels.

Maddy Robinson pitched the first three innings, recording four strikeouts, while walking five and giving up four hits.

Carrie Carlbom pitched a pair of scoreless innings for the Rebels, striking out two and yielding just a couple of hits and no walks.

The Wildcats (1-6, 2-11) had a nice offensive second inning, plating five runs on four hits and four walks.
