Jerry Jerome Sather

April 1, 1933 - September 25, 2013

Jerry passed away peacefully on September 25, 2013, with his family at his side in Folsom, California. Jerry was born in St. Paul, Minnesota on April 1, 1933, and was raised in Worthington, Minnesota by his parents Arthur and Emma Sather. At the age of 18, his family moved to Modesto, California where he graduated from Modesto High School and attended Modesto Jr. College. Jerry soon met the love of his life, Muriel. Jerry went on to have a very successful career with Pacific Telephone in Modesto, California, and was transferred to AT&T in the Sacramento area in 1964.

Jerry was involved in many organizations: The Masonic Lodge Tehema #3, Kiwanis, Folsom Historical Society, AT&T Pioneers, and the Markleville Historical Society. Both Jerry and Muriel loved to travel and participated in AT&T Pioneer "Good Will Santa Tours" dressing up as Mr. & Mrs. Claus visiting orphanages, schools and convalescent homes. Their many destinations included Eastern and Western Europe, as well as part of Asia. They also enjoyed many cruises and trips to Hawaii, Mexico, Alaska, England, as well as parts of Asia. Wherever he was in his travels throughout the world, he planned a "tee-time" for a round of golf. After Jerry's retirement, you could find him on the golf course from 9-5 at Rancho Murieta Country Club. Jerry was well-known for his repertoire of jokes and wonderful sense of humor. He was a kind, wonderful, and generous man.

Our beloved Jerry will be forever missed by his wife Muriel, daughter Cynthia, and son Bryan (Jackie), grandchildren; William, Rachel, and Brent, and close family Friend Rick Luttrell. He will also be missed by his sister Janice Tow of Summers, MT, family of Round Lake, MN; many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. Our special thanks to Dr. Robert DeBruin, Pam Visathep NP., Sunny Hills Care Facility 11 (Gabriel and staff), and VITAS (Hospice) staff for their caring support.

A Memorial Service for Jerry will be held Saturday, October 5th 2013, at 1:30 pm at the Miller Funeral Home, 507 Scott Street Folsom, California.
