Joel Bartholomew Ramerth, the son of John B. and Ruth S. (Steelburg), was born May 13, 1926, in Worthington, Minnesota. Brought up in St. Gabriels Parish baptized, June 1, 1926; attended the St. Gabriels Convent and graduated from Fulda High School in 1943. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1944 served on USS Waxwing; After discharge in 1946, he started farming near Kinbrae, MN.

He met his wife, Angela Merle (Jones) in 48 and married in Denver, Colorado on January 9th, 1950; he joined St. Pauls Lutheran Church. Joel and Angie farmed until 1974; then, general manager of several grain elevator systems in SW Minnesota. In 1984, they moved to San Diego, CA and were involved in property management. While in California, they were actively involved in ministries at Celebration of Faith. In October of 2009, Joel and Angie relocated to Arlington, Texas declining health opened the opportunity for them to be near their daughters, and many grand-children. His favorite hobbies fishing and playing cards.

Joel Bartholomew Ramerth passed away November 28, 2013, peacefully in his sleep he had a myriad of diseases, including COPD and Congestive Heart Failure, Arthritis and more and yet remained a devoted husband to his wife of 63 years. Angie passed away peacefully in her sleep on Oct 5, 2013. Memorial Services were held for her on Oct 12, 2013.
