Johnsson honored at conference

CHAMBERLAIN, S.D. -- Lillian and Gil Johnsson recently attended the 43rd annual Dakota Conference on History, Literature, Art and Archaeology at The Center for Western Studies, Augustana College, Sioux Falls, S.D.

Lillian Johnsson was the recipient of the Arthur and Willmete Johnson award for her paper based on the life of Nellie Willhite, South Dakota's first female pilot, presented at last year's conference.

Lillian Johnsson is the daughter of Marie Starkenburg, Worthington. Gil Johnson is the former director of the Nobles County Library in Worthington.

They currently live in Chamberlain.
