WASHINGTON -- U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar was appointed Friday to serve on President Obama's Export Council.

"Exports are literally a world of opportunity," said Klobuchar. "In order to compete in the global economy we need to make sure our businesses and farmers can capitalize on these opportunities and access international markets. I have long been committed to these efforts and I am honored to continue this work on the President's Export Council."

"3M applauds the appointment of Senator Klobuchar to the President's Export Council and looks forward to her leadership in improving American competitiveness, opening global markets and increasing U.S. export opportunities around the world," said H.C. Shin, Executive Vice President of 3M's International Operations.
