LEGION BASEBALL ROUNDUP: Jackson, Lakefield each pick up win
JACKSON -- Taylor Christopher pitched a shutout into the seventh inning to propel the Jackson legion baseball team to a 5-1 victory against Springfield on Thursday.
Max Salazar took the loss for Springfield.
Christopher (five hits, no walks, two hit batters, one strikeout) also contributed a hit on offense.
Kyle Luhmann (two triples) and Boog Steiner (two doubles, two RBI) led the Jackson offense with three hits apiece. Josh Wacker had two hits and an RBI, Ben Stubbe had two hits and two RBI, Zach Copley had a double and an RBI and Brett Larson recorded a hit and an RBI.
Jackson will play against Okabena in Heron Lake on Saturday.

Lakefield 13, Okabena 5
LAKEFIELD -- Lakefield took control of its contest against Okabena with a five-run fourth inning and a four-run sixth inning to earn the victory.
Nolan Luhmann took the win for Lakefield, with Luke Henkels, Justin Jass, Aaron Fest and Mason Albright combining on the hill for Okabena.
Henkels had a double and a run on offense for Okabena, Alex Olsem also had a double and a run, Jacob Post had a single and drew two walks and Sean Haberman also drew two walks.
Okabena (4-5) plays at Worthington today.
