Letter: Appreciating all the caregivers
I am so thankful for my sister-in-law who has lived with and cared for my mother-in-law for many years. She has done such a nice job. She is always patient and kind. She does things like putting flowers or a lace cloth on the table by her mother’s chair, just to cheer her up.
I know how stressful it can be to be responsible for someone else’s happiness. I also know many other families involving a caregiver, but I’ve never seen anyone do it as lovingly as my dear sister-in-law. She does not have the ability to come and go as she pleases, or to plan anything ahead because everything in her life depends on her mom and how she’s feeling.
I bring this up because there are so many people who do such things every day, and it’s easy to forget that someone is putting their own life on hold for the sake of another.
Please take a step back and remember all of those who make life pleasant for the people you love. There are countless GREAT people who should be thanked. Thanks, Judy!
