Letter: Auditorium should remain alcohol-free facility
In reference to the Daily Globe of Sept. 11, we were disturbed to read that the performances in Memorial Auditorium needed to be enhanced by the serving of alcohol. Really? We have been pleased to attend a place where alcohol was not served. Are there performances where children are not present?
We voted to allow a small portion of our sales tax money to be used to renovate the auditorium and are pleased with the results. Now, someone can come in and make a profit on the sale of alcohol.
Apparently, we missed reading that prior selling of alcohol on Sept. 13-15 had been voted on by the city council. Why was it suddenly changed to the entire year? We like an alcohol-free auditorium.
