Mike Bogle (Letter to the editor, "Unions ignore the golden rule," Dec. 22) is a disgruntled ex-worker from Toro who is naive of the facts. He was represented by the union and enjoyed a fare wage, good benefits and a safe work place.
Unions only make up about 14 percent of the total work force in America. I find it hard to believe this has anything to do with bankrupting America. CEOs have enjoyed 100 percent-plus raises and bonuses, while union workers have been lucky if they receive single-digit increases in wages or benefits. It is also illegal for union dues to go to political candidates.
I'm not sure where Mr. Bogle got his information from, but he does not have all the facts.
