Letter: May is National Foster Parent Recognition Month
Worthington Minnesota 300 11th Street / P.O. Box 639 56187

By Jen Froderman, Nobles County Community Services, Worthington

May is known as Foster Care Month in the state of Minnesota. This is a time to honor our family foster parents who provide love, stability and family homes for foster children throughout Nobles County.

0 Talk about it

Foster parents come from all walks of life. They may be single or married, with or without children, renters or homeowners. What they share is a concern for children and a commitment to helping them through tough times.

Every day foster parents ensure that children have food, clothing, shelter, but much more — love, understanding and patience while children and their birth parents work through the difficulties in their lives.

Foster families play a critical role by caring for the child or children and providing support to the child’s family. Foster care enables children to remain in their communities, remain close to their siblings, other family members and friends, and attend the same school, team events and social activities.

Day after day, our foster parent’s dedication, commitment and efforts make a profound difference in the lives of children and their families.

We at Nobles County Community Services want to extend our gratitude to all of our foster parents. Without your help, we would not be able to do what we do. You are dedicated, selfless and irreplaceable. Thank you for your devotion and efforts. You are exceptional people who are greatly appreciated.
