Letter: Reader believes Mencken was right

H.L. Mencken, who was an editorialist for the Baltimore Evening Sun, wrote in 1920: “Democracy is the theory that the common people know what they want and deserve to get it good and hard” and “On some great and glorious day, the plain folks of the land will reach their heart’s desire at last, and the White House will be occupied by a downright fool and complete narcissistic moron.” Today we have a psychological narcissist in the White House who would like to govern by presidential edict.
