Letter: Thanks to all those who helped in wake of storm

It is great to hear that many of your lives have returned to normal following last week's devastating storm. As you likely know, I joined Gov. Mark, Dayton, senators Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken, and Rep. Tim Walz last weekend to see the damage and hear from you firsthand. At times like this, state and federal officials always pull together and work together, and I'm pleased to report that is happening again.

I'd like to reassure everyone that even though we visited cities last weekend, we are all fully aware of the damage on farms and throughout the rural area and are working hard for all of southwestern Minnesota.

It has been many years since we've seen a storm of this magnitude devastate our corner of the state, and I want to offer my sincere thanks to those workers who have worked around the clock to clear the storm damage and keep our residents safe, and the neighbors who have pulled together during this time of tragedy.

Everyone, from local units of government, to the state legislature, to Congress is ready to hear your concerns and help. Please do not hesitate to contact me going forward if I can be of assistance. You can email me at, or call my office at 1-800-735-2463.
