Letter: A wake-up call on school bus service

First of all, let me start out by saying I am very angry that my children were left by the bus that was late on Sept. 8. I understand there are kinks in the system and all, yet this was the third week of school and no child should be left to walk 1 1/2 miles to where I work to get to school, which is another 1 1/2 miles from there.

I am mad at any parent who does not take the responsibility to have their children ready on time, making the bus late for all others that may be waiting in who knows what kind of weather at any time. I'm also mad that the bus company didn't answer the phone when I called them at 7:30 a.m. to find out what was going on. Due to circumstances, my children were accidentally locked out of the house as they tried to run after the bus and then ended up walking.

I told the bus manager that I wanted a letter explaining what they would do to remedy this situation. If not, I would sent this letter to the editor. I gave him a copy of the letter and told Mr. Landgaard of this, also, when I talked to him. I guess it was too much to ask, though the manager assured me he would do so.

May this letter be a warning and wake-up call for all involved.
