Letter: Walz gets this writer's vote

By Robert Emary, Worthington

Aaron Miller will be challenging Congressman Tim Walz in November. Mr. Miller has already pledged that if he is elected to the U.S. House, he will join the Tea Party caucus. He is opposed to teaching evolution in public schools.

I was hoping that the Republicans would field a serious candidate who would talk about important issues like education, transportation, the economy and agriculture. Congressman Walz talks about and works on these issues every day that he serves in Congress.

If Mr. Miller’s support of the Tea Party and his opposition to teaching evolution in public schools are the issues he feels are the most important, Tim Walz can count on my vote this year.
