Luverne, Adrian win twice in busy amateur baseball weekend (amateur round-up)
HERON LAKE -- In a busy day of amateur baseball, the Heron Lake Lakers suffered a pair of losses Sunday.
In the first game, Pipestone scored seven runs in the first three innings en route to a 13-4 victory over the Lakers.
Brady Legler earned the victory for the A's, allowing two earned runs on five hits while walking three and striking out three.
Keith Rogers suffered the loss for the Lakers, allowing seven earned runs on seven hits while walking six in four and a third innings.
For Pipestone (5-4), Danny Moffit had three hits and drove in two, while Legler had two hits and a pair of runs.
Nick Schneider scored three times and had a hit, while Dave Steenstra had a two-run double and scored twice.
For Heron Lake, James Anderson had two hits and drove in a run, while Ike Rogers had a hit and drove in a run. Jared Meinders and Lucas Knutson each had a hit and scored a run.

In the Lakers' second game of the day, Adrian scored three times in the third inning and held on to a one-run victory Sunday.
Kevin Nowotny allowed one run in five and two-thirds innings to earn the victory, while David Hoffer earned the save in the final inning and a third.
Ike Rogers suffered the loss for the Lakers (2-9), allowing three runs on three hits in five innings.
Brandon Wolf had an RBI double and scored a run, while Joe Kruger had an RBI. Cody Kontz added a hit and a run, while Glen Kruger scored a run.
For Heron Lake Tyler Leopold, Lucas Knutson (run scored), Trevor Leopold (run scored), Chad Knutson and Keith Rogers all had a hit in the game.
Heron Lake will host Spencer, Iowa Sunday.

Brandon Diekmann earned the victory, allowing five hits and three runs while walking five and striking out three in seven innings.
Levi Bullerman had a pair of hits and an RBI, while Kontz had a two-RBI single. Joe Kruger had a hit and drove in two runs.

ADRIAN -- Fox Lake jumped out to a 3-1 lead and held on for a two-run victory over Adrian late Saturday night.
Cody Kontz suffered the loss for the A's, allowing three earned runs on nine hits and struck out five in eight and a third innings.
Glen Kruger had three hits, Matt Gades added two more for Adrian (3-4), while Wolf had an RBI double.
Adrian will host Brandon, S.D. Tuesday.

JACKSON -- In a pitching dual between Luverne's Jared Pick and Jackson's Tom Hady, the Redbirds prevailed Saturday night.
Pick earned the victory, allowing no runs on three hits while walking two and striking out 11 in nine innings.
Hady suffered the loss, allowing one earned run on eight hits in eight innings.
James Fisher, Reed VanHulven and Caleb Bruyness all had two hits for the Redbirds.
Trent Sukalski had two of Jackson's three hits in the game.

LUVERNE -- With five runs in the second inning and three more in the sixth, the Redbirds won their second game of the weekend Sunday.
Caleb Bruyness threw six innings, allowing two hits while striking out five in six innings to earn the victory.
Tony Sandbulte, Wyatt Cote and JT Bruyness all had two hits for Luverne, while Fisher drove in two runs and Pick had three RBI in the game.
Luverne will travel to Pipestone Wednesday.
