Man injured in stop sign violation
FAIRVIEW, Iowa - Jesse Alan Richardson, of Sibley, Iowa, was injured after a crash at 7 a.m. Tuesday when his vehicle was broadsided by a vehicle that failed to stop at a stop sign.
Driving the oncoming vehicle was James Francis Schroder, of Sioux Falls, S.D. Schroder was eastbound at the intersection of 130th street and Warbler Avenue.
The Osceola County Sherriff's office reported that Richardson was freed from his vehicle by mechanical means. He was taken to the Osceola County Community Hospital where he was airlifted to a hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Schroder sustained no injuries. He was cited for failure to obey stop sign and failure to have a driver's license. Both vehicles were a total loss.
Harris Fire Department, Ocheyedan Fire and Rescue, Ocheyedan Ambulance, and Sibley Ambulance assisted the Osceola County Sherriff's Office at the scene.
