Marie "Mary" Milbrath

Marie "Mary" Milbrath, age 101, was born on August 28, 1912 in Rost Township, Jackson County, MN, the daughter of Henrikus and Marie (Uhlken) Schmidt. She was baptized on September 29, 1912 by Rev. H. Meyer at her home and confirmed on March 28, 1926 at St. Pauls Lutheran Church in Lakefield, MN. Mary attended St. Pauls Lutheran School and graduated eighth grade from School District #73. Mary married Roland H. Milbrath on November 12, 1941 with Rev. H. Meyer officiating at her parents home in Lakefield. They lived in Worthington, MN since 1931 and were members of St. Matthew Lutheran Church. Roland and Mary owned and operated the Standard Oil in Worthington for many years. Mary also worked at the Worthington Hospital as a cook for 44 years. Mary died on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the South Shore Care Center in Worthington, MN.

Mary is survived by many nieces, nephews and special friend, Marianne Briggs. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland in 1996; her parents; four brothers, Andrew, Rolf, Albert and Herman and ten sisters, Margaret, Anna, Elizabeth, Minnie, Katherine, Frieda, Bertha, Erna, Esther and Laurena.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Joe Behnke officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 13, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington and on Thursday, November 14, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington.
