Marilyn Joyce Good
Marilyn Joyce Good, age 84, was born on July 30, 1929, in Sac City, IA, the daughter of Hilmer and Elda (Harmsen) Anderson. She moved with her family to a farm near Bigelow, MN and graduated from Worthington Senior High School in 1949. Marilyn married John Leo Good on June 29, 1949, in Minneapolis, MN. They made their home on a farm near Bigelow, where she helped her husband on the farm all her life. Marilyn was a member of the Bigelow Methodist Church. In 1976, they moved to Worthington, MN, and she became a member of the First United Methodist Church. In her early days, Marilyn loved to roller skate. She also enjoyed shopping, traveling, going on cruises, and enjoyed visiting family, friends, and neighbors. Marilyn died on Monday, July 14, 2014, at the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda, MN.
Marilyn is survived by her daughter, Janet Good of West St. Paul, MN; a brother, Don (Patricia) Anderson of Joplin, MO; brother-in-law, Elden Good of Worthington, MN; niece, Glenda (Roger) Lais of Bigelow, MN, and great nephew, Dustin (Tiffany) Neugebauer of Worthington, MN. She also is survived by two adopted grandchildren, Dyson Neugebauer and Kinsley Neugebauer. Little children brought her much joy. She was preceded in death by her husband, John in 1995; daughter, Diane in 1951; her parents; sister-in-law, Roberta Good; niece, Connie Good, and other family members.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., at the First United Methodist Church in Worthington, MN, with Rev. Dr. Daren Flinck officiating. Casket bearers will be Terry Neugebauer, Landon Ahlers, Logan Ahlers, Jerry Wiertzema, Mark Hayenga, and Craig Hayenga. Burial will be in the Summit Lake Township Cemetery near Reading, MN.
Benson Funeral Home in Worthington is in charge of the arrangements.
