Marjorie "Marge" Voss

Marjorie Anne Voss, 85, of Worthington, died peacefully November 10, 2013, at Maple Manor Health Care in Rochester, MN.

Marjorie was born July 8, 1928 in Brewster, MN to Arthur and Anna Anderson. She attended Brewster schools until 9th grade, participating in the award-winning Brewster Drum Corps. After moving to Worthington, she graduated from Worthington High School in 1945.

Marge married Merlin Voss on November 30, 1947, in Worthington, MN. Over the years, she and Merlin operated Voss Standard Oil and Voss Glass and MiniMall. Marge was a loving caregiver to her seven children and other members of her extended family.

Marge was a member of St. Matthew Lutheran Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. She also enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, baking, puzzles and bird watching, especially cardinals.

Marjorie is survived by her children: Marvin "Butch", Worthington; Marlene (Henry) Syverson, Wanamingo, MN; Mardella (Keith) Riemersma, Rochester, MN; Marianne (Dan) Herrmann, Menomonie,WI; Martin (Renee), Austin, TX; Melvin (Lila), Lake Benton, MN; a Crailsheim daughter, Ingrid Konrad; a brother, Robert L. Anderson, Luverne, MN; 16 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merlin; daughter, Marilyn Stofferahn Murphy; and granddaughters, Sarah and Jennifer Voss.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 15, 2013, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Worthington, MN, with Pastor Joe Behnke officiating. Burial will be in the Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Benson Funeral Home in Worthington and on Friday, November 15, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at St. Matthew Lutheran in Worthington.

Memorials are preferred to St. Matthew Lutheran Building Fund or Hospice Cottage, Inc., P.O. Box 203, Worthington, MN.
