McDonald joins WorkForce Council
WORTHINGTON — Barbara McDonald, of Worthington, was recently appointed by the Southwest Minnesota Chief Elected Officials Board to serve as an ad-hoc education representative on the Southwest Minnesota Workforce Council. Barbara is the interim president at Minnesota West Community & Technical College.
The Workforce Council serves 14 counties in Southwest Minnesota. The Council has oversight of the WorkForce Centers in Montevideo, Marshall and Worthington. The Council establishes and promotes workforce development policies that improve the social and economic life of the community. The Council takes a leadership role in forging strong and vital partnerships between business, education, economic development and the workforce development community. The members contribute specific expertise from key industries, articulating evolving industry needs critical to aligning our workforce with the jobs of the future.
The council has 26 members representing Business, Education, Labor, Public Assistance Agencies, Economic Development, and WorkForce Center Partners from the 14 counties of Southwest Minnesota.
