Minnesota 60 detour to change

MANKATO -- A change to the Minnesota 60 detour in Worthington will begin June 22 in order to prepare for the construction of a new Union Pacific Railroad Bridge over Minnesota 60.

Rather than using Nobles County 35, the detour will extend north along Nobles County 5 to Nobles County 33 for the rest of the year. The phase three construction from Nobles County 35 to Interstate 90 is scheduled to begin in 2012.

The replacement of the railroad bridge by Lunda Construction Company is part of the Minnesota 60 expansion from Bigelow to Interstate 90 in Worthington.

R & G Construction Company, Marshall, is the prime contractor for the Paul Avenue to Nobles County 35 segment. Mathiowetz Construction, Sleepy Eye, is the prime contractor for the rural segment from Nobles County 4 to Paul Avenue.
