Minnesota West football: Four Bluejays All-Division first team
WORTHINGTON — Four Minnesota West Bluejays have been named to the 2013 Minnesota College Athletic Conference (MCAC) All-Southern Division first team.
Sophomores Reuben Linton II, Matt Shively, Cha’Ron Thompson and Dylan Hart were chosen for the first team. Linton is a 5-10 running back from Robert E. Lee High School in Texas. Shively is a 6-1, 210-pound linebacker from North St. Paul High School in Minnesota. Thompson is a 6-1, 210-pound linebacker from Omaha Benson High School in Nebraska. Hart is a 6-1, 225-pound linebacker from Mitchell, S.D.
Five Minnesota West players were named to the second team, and five more were named to the third team.
Bluejays on the second team include: freshman wide receiver Elliot Oldham of Ferndale, Mich.; freshman offensive lineman Willie Norwood of White Lake, S.D.; sophomore running back Zach Norman of Westside, Neb.; sophomore fullback Mychal Sheridan of Harris-Lake Park, Iowa; and sophomore quarterback Logan Massop of St. Paul Johnson High School in Minnesota.
Members of the third team are: freshman offensive lineman Zach Donner of Brunswick, Ga.; sophomore kicker-punter Tyler Smith of Pinnacle, Ariz.; sophomore defensive back Mike Cooper of Wayne Memorial, Mich.; freshman tight end Michael Garcia of Hagerman, N.M.; and freshman offensive lineman Tre Reed of Martin Luther King High School in Michigan.
Minnesota West finished with a 6-3 record in 2013, including a 3-1 record in the Southern Division.
