MnDOT open house is Jan. 31
JASPER -- Plans for a new road surface on Minnesota 23 from Interstate 90 to Jasper this summer provides an opportunity for land owners with damaged drain crossings, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Individuals interested in learning more about the Minnesota 23 project are invited to attend an open house from 4 to 6 p.m., Jan. 31, at Memorial Hall, 101 Wall St., Jasper.
The project consists of removing the asphalt surface, recycling it for a base and adding new pavement for the surface. Motorists can expect a much smoother ride when the project is complete in the fall.
When the old surface is removed, MnDOT has the opportunity to deal with drain tile issues in the highway right of way. Anyone with tile crossings in need of repair is encouraged to attend the meeting or contact MnDOT's consultant, Don Miller of Yaggy-Colby Associates at (507) 288-6464 or firstname.lastname@example.org by April 1.
The construction will require a detour to I-90, Highway 75 and Rock County Road 1 for the duration of the project.
