Mobile meth lab found in Jackson County
JACKSON -- The Jackson County Sheriff's Office discovered a mobile meth lab last week while investigating a report of a suspicious vehicle on a vacant farm site.
Deputies responded to the report on Nov. 15 at the farm site in Section 4 of Ewington Township. Zachariah Swanson, 35, of Currie, and Shannon Goembel, 38, of Brandon, S.D., were located in a 2007 Ford sports utility vehicle. While speaking with them, the deputies detected the meth lab inside the vehicle.
Swanson and Goembel were taken into custody and later charged with two felony counts of first-degree aid and advise controlled substance crime. They remain in custody under a $100,000 bond.
As a precautionary measure, the Brewster Fire Department and Worthington Ambulance were dispatched to the scene while the lab was being dismantled.
