Mural dedication planned for Heritage Days celebration

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa -- The festivities for the Rock Rapids Heritage Days and 125th Anniversary Celebration are now under way, offering plenty to keep attendees busy from morning to night -- including the dedication of a mural at the town's Farm Bureau building on Saturday.

4:30 p.m. -- Christian Reformed Church Whopper Feed, US Bank Square

6:30 p.m. -- Kids' Parade, courthouse square


7 to 9 a.m. -- Community breakfast, Dad's Belgian Waffles, Forster Community Center

1:30 and 3:30 p.m. -- Rapids Mural Society mural tours, pick-up at Depot Museum and Forster Community Center

6 p.m. -- Mural dedication, Farm Bureau building

7 p.m. -- Burn Out Contest, Second Avenue

8 p.m. -- River Valley Players Review, Forster Auditorium; car races, Lyon County Fairgrounds

8:30 p.m. -- Cruise Night, downtown


8 a.m. -- Road Race 10K, 5K and 1-mile, Island Park

9 a.m. -- Fast Pitch Tournament, Borman Forster Ballpark
