WORTHINGTON -- Minnesota West was drawn as the No. 1 seed in the NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Region 13A Tournament.

"We were still tied with Anoka-Ramsey after several tiebreakers, so the next option was to do a draw," Lady Jays head coach Mike Fury said.

The Lady Jays and the Golden Rams finished the regular season tied atop the Minnesota College Athletic Conference Southern Division standings with identical 10-2 league records.

The top seed is awarded to the Southern Division champion.

The NJCAA Division III Women's Basketball Region 13A Tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday at Anoka-Ramsey Community College in Coon Rapids.

Minnesota West (19-6) plays No. 4-seed Minnesota State-Fergus Falls (12-12) in the semifinal round at 8 p.m. Saturday. No. 2-seed Anoka-Ramsey (20-6) plays No. 3-seed Western Tech (16-10) in a semifinal game at 6 p.m. Saturday.

The semifinal winners meet in the championship game at 5 p.m. Sunday.

Northland (24-2), Rainy River (19-7), Mesabi Range (16-11) and Central Lakes (10-15) are the teams that qualified for the NJCAA Women's Basketball Region 13B Tournament.

The tournament will take place Saturday and Sunday at Northland Community and Technical College in Grand Forks.

No. 1-seed Northland plays No. 4-seed Central Lakes in a semifinal game at 2 p.m. Saturday.

No. 2-seed Rainy River plays No. 3-seed Mesabi Range in a semifinal game at 4 p.m. Saturday.

The semifinal winners meet in the championship game at 2 p.m. Sunday.

Both Region 13 champions automatically advance to the NJCAA Women's Basketball Tournament.
