Mystery writers to speak in Lakefield

LAKEFIELD — A trio of mystery writers who call themselves a Minnesota Crime Wave will make a stop in Lakefield Saturday to talk about the combined 30 novels they have written.

Ellen Hart, Carl Brookins and William Kent Krueger have received nearly two dozen local, regional and national awards for their writing.

Krueger writes the Cork O’Connor mystery series set in the great northwoods of Minnesota, while Hart is author of the Jane Lawless mystery series set in the Twin Cities. Brookins penned the Tanner-Whitney and Sean Sean series.

They will speak at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Jackson County Central Middle School Auditorium in Lakefield. Doors open at 12:30 p.m., and there is a fee to attend.

The event is sponsored by JCC Community Education.
