New manager, new look at ProBuild
Worthington Minnesota 300 11th Street / P.O. Box 639 56187

WORTHINGTON -- Worthington's ProBuild location recently welcomed new employee Rich Lepird, who started as manager about two months ago.

Lepird has an extensive background working in the building industry that includes 18 years of experience in lumbersale and management.

He started his career in home construction, including additions and remodels. After three years in construction, Lepird transitioned to the supplier side of construction and began working for Estherville Building Center in Estherville, Iowa. During the 18 years he worked there, he moved up in the company and served as the outside sales representative before finally becoming the assistant general manager.

During his time at with the privately-owned lumber yard, Lepird worked with a variety of customers including service contractors, homeowners and do-it-yourselfers.

Lepird said he is looking forward to working with ProBuild, a supplier of building materials to national builders, local contractors and do-it-yourselfers.

"I feel like ProBuild is a growing company, and I wanted to be a part of that," he said.

Lepird jokingly described his days as "chaos" and said his job will primarily be "keeping ahead of the inventory and trying to help people."

"We are pleased to bring Rich onto our staff in a management role," said Doug Ossefoort, area vice president for ProBuild, in a press release. "His background in the building industry as well as his strong people management skills make him a fantastic addition to the team. Rich's experience in markets like Worthington will help him and the team to provide the high level of service customers have come to expect from ProBuild."

In addition to the hire of Lepird, ProBuild recently completed a store remodel. The upgrade features a new window and cabinet displays, an expanded product mix and a floor re-set to better showcase product offerings.

"We relaid the sales floor and remodeled," Lepird explained. "The front counter is moved, too, to make it easier to find things and get through the store."

Located on Kragness Avenue, ProBuild offers a variety of construction products from engineered wood, gypsum and siding to custom-fabricated staircases and trim.

So far, Lepird said things have been going well at his new position and that he is enjoying working in Worthington.

"It's been great," he said, "Worthington is a nice community."
