Synhorst is retiring on Dec. 1. Potaczek looks forward to relocating from the Quad Cities to northwest Iowa.

“I like the Midwest,” she said. “I grew up in Wisconsin and enjoy outdoor activities such as biking, rollerblading, walking and swimming. I look forward to exploring the area and to serving the local community.”

Potaczek will name her practice “Spencer & Lakes Regional Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery,” since the practice is based in Spencer but also has locations in Spirit Lake, Iowa, Fairmont and Worthington.

Potaczek graduated summa cum laude from Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wis., with a bachelor of science degree in biomedical sciences. She was valedictorian of her graduating dental class from Marquette University School of Dentistry. Potaczek completed her residency in oral surgery at University of Cincinnati Medical Center and is certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Potaczek is relocating from Davenport, Iowa, where she has practiced with Spring Park Oral Surgeons since 2010. She also has taught part-time at the University of Iowa Oral Surgery Clinic since 2011. Prior to her dental training, she had several years of experience in dentistry as a dental assistant.

For more information about Potaczek and the services her practice will provide, visit www.SLRoralsurgery.com or call (712) 262-7350. She will start seeing patients Thursday.
