Nobles Co. 4-H’ers do well at Minnesota State Fair

FALCON HEIGHTS — Jaren Solt, a member of the Elk Tip Toppers 4-H Club, earned reserve champion purebred market barrow and reserve champion Yorkshire barrow during the Minnesota State Fair’s 4-H swine show last weekend in Falcon Heights. Meanwhile, Brandon Weidert, a member of the Grand Prairie Rockets 4-H Club, exhibited the reserve champion beef market heifer during the 4-H beef show; and Cody Gravenhof exhibited the champion meat breeding jr. doe goat during the 4-H goat show.

Nobles County 4-H’er Paige Gravenhof earned reserve champion middleweight meat market goat; and Nobles County 4-H’er Kennedy Cummings exhibited the reserve champion prospect steer calf. The Gravenhofs, as well as Weidert, also earned blue ribbons in showmanship of their animals.
