Nobles County Board to address open seat Tuesday
WORTHINGTON -- Nobles County Commissioners are expected to discuss the fate of an open commissioner seat during their regularly scheduled board meeting at 9 a.m. Tuesday.
The seat was vacated by Norm Gallagher, who retired effective March 31, due to health reasons. Gallagher served the fourth district, comprised primarily of residents of Worthington.
Nobles County Attorney Gordon Moore has provided board members with a few options, including appointing someone to fill out the remainder of Gallagher's term, hosting a special election within 30 to 90 days, or having a public hearing and a special election.
Commissioners meet in the board room on the third floor of the Nobles County Government Center.
