Obituary: Chad Wieneke
Chad Vincent Wieneke was born to Glenn and Jacqueline (Pensyl) Wieneke on December 25, 1972 at Arnold Memorial Hospital in Adrian, MN. He was baptized on January 13, 1973 and later confirmed on April 13, 1990 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Lismore, MN. He grew up in Lismore and graduated from Adrian High School in 1991. He then attended Pipestone Vocational and Technical College for two years in the carpentry program. Following his education, he became employed as an assembler at Highland Manufacturing in Worthington, MN. He lived in Fulda, MN, Lismore, and then Worthington. In 1998, Chad's life crossed the path of Kim Cox and the two began dating. In 2000, the couple moved to Sioux Falls, SD. During this time Chad worked various jobs through Dakota and Key staffing, including Menards. For the past five years he was employed at Pace Manufacturing in Brandon, SD. In 2007, the family moved to Luverne, Minnesota. On September 24, 2008, Chad passed away as the result of a heart attack at Avera-McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls at the age of 35 years, 8 months and 29 days.
Chad was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Luverne. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following the Minnesota Twins and Minnesota Vikings. Throughout his life, Chad was a great friend and was always very family-orientated. He enjoyed trying to make people laugh and smile through his dry jokes. He loved to fish, hunt and go camping with his family and friends. Most of all, he loved playing with his son, Joshua, and teaching him new things.
Chad is lovingly remembered by his fiancé, Kim Cox and their son, Joshua; parents, Glenn and Jackie Wieneke of Lismore; sister, Angie (Jason) Beek of Inwood, IA; brother, Troy (Connie) Wieneke of Slayton, MN; and many aunts, uncles, nephews, niece and other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Jacob and Ida Pensyl; paternal grandparents, Clarence and Doris Wieneke; aunts, Jean Pensyl, Judy Cardey, Janice Gould; uncles, John Pensyl, Larry Wieneke, and Alan Gould; and cousins, Alan Gould, Christina Wieneke, and baby Wieneke.
Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:30 AM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Luverne, with Father Thomas Jennings officiating. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Lismore. Visitation will be Friday from 4-8 PM, with a prayer service at 7:30 PM, at the church. Arrangements are through Hartquist Funeral Home - Engebretson Chapel in Luverne.
