Lee Soderholm was born July 17, 1926 on a farm near Reading, Minnesota

to Hjalmer O. and Selma Johnson Soderholm.

He grew up on the family farm and attended Worthington High School. Following high school Lee farmed on the family farm. On June 24, 1953 he and Opal Marie Syverson were married at Tracy Lutheran Church in Tracy, MN. Following their marriage they continued to farm near Reading until 1961 when the family moved to a farm north of Slayton. In 1963 they moved to Slayton. Lee worked at various jobs including construction work, truck driver, carpentry, and school bus driver. Lee passed away

on June 7, 2008 at his home in Slayton at the age of 81. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton. Lee enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons, grandsons and their friends.

Lee loved being a grandpa and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Soderholm of Slayton, MN, four children and their spouses, Gail and Jim Tucker of Tucson, AZ, Marcia and Vern Bertram of Colome, SD, Lynette Soderholm and her fiancé, Doug Sieve of Slayton, MN, and Kurt and Kathy Soderholm of New Ulm, MN, one daughter-in-law, Monette Berkevich and her husband Jim, of

Lakefield, MN, nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters, Fern Soderholm of Fulda, MN, and Gloria Frederickson of Worthington, MN. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son, Alan Soderholm, one sister, Violet Hill and one brother, Garvin Soderholm.

Christ Lutheran Church in Slayton, MN on Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Ted Kunze officiating. Interment is at

Worthington City Cemetery, Worthington, MN.
