Obituary: Odelia "Babe" Edith Einck
Odelia "Babe" Edith Einck was born on March 24, 1918 in Larkin Township,
Nobles County, Minnesota to Joseph and Mary Schmidt Honermann.
She grew up on the family farm and attended St. Adrian Catholic High
School. On August 19, 1941 she and Arthur Einck were married at St. Adrian Church in Adrian, MN. Following their marriage they farmed near Adrian for six years. Then in 1947 they moved to a farm in Fenton, Township Murray County, MN and farmed. In 1983 they retired and moved to Slayton. Art passed away on August 18, 1995. In January 2006 Babe became a resident of the Maple Lawn Nursing Home in Fulda. Due to failing health Babe moved to Our House Hospice Home in Slayton in October
2007 and passed away there on May 4, 2008 at the age of 90. She was a
member of St. Ann's Church in Slayton and was a lifetime member of the C.C.W. Babe enjoyed family gatherings, playing cards, bowling, playing bingo. She also was a Twins Baseball fan.
Survivors include her six children and their spouses: Bill and Nancy Einck of Chandler, MN, Joan and Vern Behrends of Worthington, MN, Ginny and Harold Hill of Windom, MN, Vonnie and Clarence Sieve of Lismore, MN, Don and Janice Einck of Iona, MN, and Ron and Janelle Einck of Iona, MN, 21 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, one sister, Loretta Scheidt of
Adrian, MN, one sister-in-law, Loretta Honerman of Luverne, MN, one
brother-in-law, Frank Einck of Worthington, MN. She is preceded in
death by her parents, husband, Art, daughter, Gail Einck, three sisters,
and five brothers.
The funeral service will be at St. Ann's Church in Slayton, MN on Wednesday, May 7, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Patrick Arens officiating.
Interment is at St. Kilian Cemetery, St. Kilian, MN.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2008, at St. Ann's Church in Slayton from 4-7 p.m. with a CAD Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a prayer service at 7 p.m. Visitation will continue on Wednesday morning from 9:30 a.m. to
time of services at the church. Totzke Funeral Home of Slayton in charge of arrangements.
