O’Brien sheriff nabs two on drug charges
SANBORN, Iowa — The O’Brien County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people on drug-related charges following a traffic stop at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday on Polk Avenue southwest of Sanborn.
The driver, Kevin L. Jennings, 46, of Cottage Grove, was apprehended after a short foot chase. He and a passenger, Kimberly F. Broyles, 28, of Blue Mound, Kan., were both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, interference with official acts, possession of a controlled substance (marijuana), possession of methamphetamine, and possession of amphetamines. Jennings was also charged with not having a valid driver’s license.
Both suspects also are wanted on out-of-state warrants: Jennings on a Minnesota felony sex offender warrant; and Broyles out for a narcotics violation in Kansas.
Both were transported to the O’Brien County Jail & booked. Bond for each was set at $3,000. Both face extradition by the respective states.
The sheriff’s deputy was assisted by the O’Brien County K9 and Sanborn Police Department.
