Pipestone National Monument offers free entrance
PIPESTONE -- In conjunction with National Park Week, Pipestone National Monument offers free entrance to the park April 16-24, inviting everyone to be part of the growing connection between public lands and public health.
All national parks will waive entrance fees during the week.
In 2010, the monument attracted more than 18,000 visitors from around the world. The park offers a three-quarter-mile walking path, orientation film, pipestone demonstrators, a picnic area and a gift shop.
National Park Service passes are available for purchase throughout the year at the monument and provide access to the National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Managements, Bureau of Reclamation and Department of Agriculture sites that charge entrance or amenity fees.
