Pipestone Water Tower Festival starts Thursday
PIPESTONE — This year marks 25 straight years of Pipestone’s Water Tower Festival, and with the special year come special events.
“We are having a community barbecue on Friday night in downtown Pipestone, just before the street dance,” said Mick Myers, executive director of the Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau in Pipestone, regarding special events to commemorate the anniversary. “Along with that, Reggie Gorter (from Reggie Gorter’s Vocal and Dance Studio) will be doing several numbers, and we will also have a magician as our emcee.”
“Another new event we will be having is the ‘Pipestone Sings’ event,” Myers explained. “Young people from ages 15 to 25 can perform, and the winner we select will go on to the ‘Minnesota Sings’ event in St. Paul in September.”The full schedule of events is as follows:
