Appropriate to family, friends and community members of war veterans, the 40-minute play has been crafted to inspire respect by presenting scenes which acknowledge that service is honorable.

Written by Buffy Sedlachek of CLIMB, the play exposes challenges faced by military personnel and their families during the period of reintegration and teaches strategies communities and extended families can use to support a successful reintegration.

"We think it is very timely with our troops coming home from the war," said Slayton Assistant Librarian Becky LeTendre. "It is something that our service people from the past will relate to as well. We are hoping that a lot of older veterans will be able to attend. It will be a great multigenerational experience for all involved."

The production is sponsored by a grant received by Plum Creek Library system, LeTendre said, and the Slayton Public Library is one of two libraries in the nine-county library area hosting the event.

The play will be performed at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Murray County Central Auditorium, land is free and open to the public.
