MCC's Tarry Boelter honored at Baseball All-Star Series
CHASKA -- Murray County Central coach Tarry Boelter was honored at the Minnesota High School Baseball All-Star Series tournament for his upcoming induction into the Minnesota State High School Coaching Hall of Fame.
"It is a very humbling thing to get this award," Boelter said. "I don't feel like I've done anything special to deserve this honor, although, I guess I have won a few more games than I have lost in my career."
Boelter has been coaching baseball at MCC for the last 27 years and joins his father and fellow high school baseball coach, Don Boelter, in the Hall of Fame. Don, who coached at Sleepy Eye High School for 34 years, was inducted in 2009. Tarry picked up his 350th win at the end of the 2013 season to put him into a four way tie for 41st in state history.
"It is really nice to get into the Hall of Fame since my dad was inducted a few years ago," Boelter said. "I have had great kids play for me over the years."
The induction will take place later this year.
