Prep Baseball: Rabbits hold off Wildcats, 5-4, in Section 3A

MILROY -- The second-seeded Wabasso Rabbits scored two runs in the bottom of the fifth and held off a seventh-inning rally from the 10th-seeded Southwestern United Wildcats to claim a 5-4 victory in the Section 3A South high school baseball playoffs Saturday afternoon.

Caleb Salfer and Neil Eichten each had two hits to lead Wabasso. Eichten pitched 6 1/3 innings for the Rabbits before Seth Guetter came on to record the final two outs.

Trey Cranston started and pitched four-plus innings for SWU. Dakota Schmid hurled two innings for the Wildcats.

Erik Jass, Stuart Schumacher, Jacob Post, Austin Rossow and Isaac Fest each had a base hit for SWU, which finishes its season with a record of 4-14.
