ELLSWORTH -- Four players scored in double figures to lead George-Little Rock to a 72-45 victory against Ellsworth in a non-conference girls' basketball game Monday night.


Brooke Kruse had a game-high 16 points for the Mustangs, while Shelby Nagel added 14 points.

Patrice Peters and Kelli Starr each scored 12 points for G-LR.

Rayna Sandoval led Ellsworth (6-6) with 15 points, while Brooke Kix added 11 points and seven rebounds.

Darian Herman had six rebounds and four blocks for the Panthers, who will travel to Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Thursday.

Martin Luther 50, SSC 43

OKABENA -- Leading most of the way, Martin Luther held off a late rally by Southwest Star Concept and posted a seven-point non-conference victory over the Quasars.

SSC (7-7), which lost its third straight game, rallied to take a 42-41 lead with 3:15 to play on Betsy Voehl's third 3-pointer of the game. But the Knights (7-6) won their fourth consecutive contest by scoring nine of the game's last 10 points.

Sophomore Haley Geistfeld scored 15 points for Martin Luther, including a 12-footer in the lane with 59 seconds left, snapping a 43-43 tie and giving her team the late-game edge. Teammate Judi Grosland netted 13 points, sinking a trio of 3-pointers.

Voehl finished with a game-high 16 points for SSC, including seven in the game's first four minutes when the Quasars opened up an early 10-1 lead.

But the Knights took control of the rest of the first half, outscoring SSC by a commanding 27-10 margin over the next 14 minutes.

The second half was evenly-played with the Quasars gradually cutting into the lead before finally getting ahead on Voehl's long shot.

The Knights -- who were 16 of 27 at the free-throw stripe, compared to a 2-of-7 performance by the Quasars -- scored seven of their last nine points at the line.

Katey Granstra was held to eight points, but claimed 12 rebounds and blocked three shots for the Quasars, who host Adrian Thursday.

LAKE PARK, Iowa -- April Wallace was one of two Raiders to record a double-double as Round Lake-Brewster edged Harris-Lake Park Monday.

Wallace scored a game-high 18 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead RL-B (4-8).

Karen Schmitz scored 13 points and added 10 rebounds, while Ceilia Schmitz (seven rebounds), Katy Johnson (six rebounds), Olivia Stanton (six rebounds) and Chelsea Meyer (four assists) each filled the stat sheet for the Raiders.

Anna Brandt scored 16 points to lead H-LP, while Jena Peters scored 14 points on the night.

RL-B will host Edgerton Thursday night.

WESTBROOK -- Jace Jarmer scored 19 points and pulled down 15 rebounds to lead Westbrook-Walnut Grove to a conference victory.

Mason Comnick added 14 points and six steals, while Jon LeBoutillier scored 11 points and had nine assists as the Chargers (10-0, 5-0) remained perfect on the season.

Jake Fredrickson scored a team-high 13 points for the Falcons, while Brian Benedict (11) and Tyler Erickson (10) each scored in double figures for RRC.

W-WG will travel to Edgerton today, while RRC will host Round Lake-Brewster.

Ellsworth 66, G-LR 44

ELLSWORTH -- Tom Nolte had 27 points, eight rebounds and eight steals Monday night to lead the Panthers to a decisive non-conference victory over George-Little Rock.

Trevor Gruis had 18 points, 12 rebounds and four blocks, and Adam Van Der Stoep had six assists for the Panthers, who led by 20 points at halftime.

Tyler Starr had 11 points, and Jason Rypkema added 10 to lead G-LR.

Tyler Chapa had seven rebounds, and Dalton Huisman added four steals for Ellsworth (7-2), which will host Southwest Star Concept tonight.

Saturday RRC 64, Wabasso 53

WABASSO -- Trailing 32-21 at halftime, Red Rock Central outscored Wabasso 43-21 in the second half for an 11-point victory Saturday.

Aaron Furth scored 24 points to lead RRC, while Brian Benedict added 14 points and 10 rebounds. Jake Fredrickson had 12 points and five assists for the Falcons.
