PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Windom knocks off Martin County West, 82-64

WINDOM -- All season long, Jake and Lee Holt have been among the offensive leaders for Windom's boys' basketball team.

Saturday against Martin County West (20-4), the two combined for a mere 13 points.

However, the rest of the Eagles (12-9) picked up the scoring in an 82-64 victory.

Travis Mattson scored a game-high 32 points, dished out three assists and had four rebounds.

Spenser Kipfer had 15 points and four rebounds, while Levi Gotto scored 10 points.

Lee Holt scored seven points, while Jake Holt added six points and had 19 rebounds.

Jon Traetow scored 22 points to lead MCW.

Windom, which committed 10 turnovers in the game, will travel to Tracy-Milroy-Balaton Tuesday in a game that will have an impact on the section seedings.

MARSHALL -- Mason Comnick scored 26 points and dished out three assists to lead Westbrook-Walnut Grove past Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Saturday at Southwest Minnesota State University.

Jace Jarmer added 15 points and 16 rebounds while Jon LeBoutillier added 12 points.

Jason Minett scored 10 points to lead R-T-R.

W-WG (15-6) will host Southwest Star Concept Tuesday.

JCC 65, New Ulm 49

NEW ULM -- Pat Garvin scored a game-high 20 points to lead Jackson County Central to a non-conference victory.

Nathan Brandt scored 11 points, while Trevon Bargfrede scored 10 points.

New Ulm's Mike Quiring scored 14 points.

JCC (7-14) will host Blue Earth Tuesday in the Huskies' regular season finale.

Girls R-T-R 61, W-WG 57

MARSHALL -- Audra Schmidt scored 21 points and had 12 rebounds and three blocks to lead Westbrook-Walnut Grove, but Russell-Tyler-Ruthton proved too much Saturda in a girls' basketball game.

Chanel Madson scored 16 points and dished out three assists, while Kassandra Jarmer had 10 points, eight rebounds and three assists.

Kylie Erickson scored eight points and had four steals for W-WG.

The Chargers (11-13) were down 21-7 early in the game, but went on a 19-5 run to tie the game at 26-all.

W-WG, which was 14 of 23 from the free-throw line, trailed by three in the final seconds, but couldn't get the open 3 to drop in the four-point loss.

R-T-R, which finished 20 of 32 from the line, sealed the victory at the charity stripe.

The Chargers will travel to Round Lake-Brewster tonight.

Fulda 72, Minneota 50

MINNEOTA -- Courtney Hulstein and Brittany Hulstein combined to score 39 points to lead Fulda past Minneota.

Courtney scored 20 points to go along with a career-high eight rebounds and four assists.

Brittany Hulstein added 19 points, five rebounds and five assists.

Amy Paulzine scored 17 points and pulled down 13 rebounds for the Raiders (14-10).

Fulda, which outrebounded the Vikings 49-27, will host Red Rock Central tonight.
