PREP BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Windom moves to 2-1, after knocking off Westbrook-Walnut Grove 88-40

WINDOM -- Windom's boys' basketball team cruised versus Westbrook-Walnut Grove Tuesday in front of the home crowd with an 88-40 win. The Eagles (2-1) had five players in double digits for scoring to lead the way.

Jake Holt had 21 points 12 rebounds and five steals, Collin Lovell had 19 points and six rebounds and Lee Holt had 18 points to pace Windom, while Trevor Cuppy chipped in 12 points and Jacob Johnson added 10 points, six rebounds and four steals.

W-WG (0-4) was led by Taylor Lindaman (15 points) and Aaron Haas (nine points).

Windom will be at home versus Pipestone Area Thursday.

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin's boys' basketball team built a 41-18 lead at the break and never looked back Tuesday.

Cody Penner had 25 points and Carter Kirk had a double-double, scoring 16 points and hauling in 11 rebounds to go along with six assists to lead ML/B-O (3-0).

Jackson County Central was led by Zack Kopley (14 points) and Jon Harmening (12 points, eight rebounds).

H-BC 90, Edgerton 68

HILLS -- After leading 37-33 at halftime, Hills-Beaver Creek scored 53 points in the second half to defeat Edgerton Tuesday night.

Dalton Bass had 19 points for the Patriots (2-3, 1-2), while Dylan Gehrke added 16, Seth Nuffer 12 and Taylor Reese 10.

Nuffer also had nine rebounds.

Edgerton was led by Johnny Menning who had a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Wade Gunnink added 18 points.

H-BC plays Southwest Christian at home Thursday.

TYLER -- Russell-Tyler-Ruthton was led by Brett Peterson who had 23 points in the Knights' win over Canby Tuesday.

Philip Madsen added 15 points, while Dylan Kor had 13 points for R-T-R (2-1).

Canby was led by Cole Brusven who had 10 points. Nate Stafki added seven.

R-T-R will play Tracy-Milroy-Balaton at home Friday.

Girls Basketball

EDGERTON -- Megan DeRuyter scored 18 points, Dedra Vander Woude scored 16 points and had six rebounds, while Amber Pater and Jennifer Schmidt chipped in nine points to lead Southwest Christian's girls' basketball team Tuesday.

SWC moves to 4-0 and 3-0 in conference.

Southwest Star Concept was led by Courtney Place (11 points, nine rebounds) and Connor DeWall (seven points, seven rebounds, four assists).

SWC plays Friday at home versus H-BC.

ADRIAN -- Rachel Kontz had 15 points, Nichole Loosbrock had 14 points, Austyn Their had eight points and 16 rebounds and Sydne Springman chipped in 12 points and five assists to lead Adrian's girls' basketball team to victory Tuesday in Red Rock conference action.

Westbrook-Walnut Grove (1-3, 1-2) was led by Maddie Frank (11 points) and Anne Woelber (10 points).

Adrian (3-2, 2-2) plays T-M-B Friday in the Dragons home tournament.

Ellsworth 57, RRC 34

LAMBERTON -- Ellsworth was led by Alexa Huisman's 17 points and six rebounds in its win over Red Rock Central Tuesday.

Amber Walkowaik had 11 points, while Bridget Kramer added 12 points and six rebounds for the Panthers.

RRC was led by Klarissa Larsen, who had 10 points.

Ellsworth's next game is Friday against Southwest Star Concept, while RRC plays Wabasso at the Adrian tournament Friday.

SLAYTON -- Makenzie Giese led Murray County Central with 22 points in its win over Edgerton Tuesday.

Jenna Ness and Taylor Schreier each added eight points for the Rebels (2-2, 2-0).

Edgerton was led by Breana Van Dyke, who had 11 points. Both Sarah Post and Tara DeKam had nine points for the Flying Dutchmen.

MOUNTAIN LAKE -- Hills-Beaver Creek was led by Katlyn Sandbulte and Megan Leuthold, who each had 10 points in the Patriots' win over Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Tuesday.

Rachel Dukes led ML/B-O with 12 points, while Paige Brown added 10 points for the Wolverines.

ML/B-O (1-4) plays Thursday at home against Renville County West.

EMMETSBURG, Iowa -- Harris-Lake Park's boys' basketball team stayed undefeated, moving to 5-0 on the season, knocking off Emmetsburg 68-60 Monday.

Eli Ihnen (35 points) and Brady Nissen (20 points) scored all but 13 of H-LP's points. Ihnen scored 25 of his 35 points in the second half, helping H-LP pull away late.

"We were up double digits and then they made five 3-pointers in the fourth quarter," H-LP coach Jeff Sohn said. "Our guys just kept battling and I'm so proud of them for it."

H-LP is at home Friday versus North Sentral Kossuth-AR.

TRACY -- Tracy-Milroy-Balaton cruised in the Camden conference boys' basketball matchup Monday behind four players in double digits.

Brian Fultz led the way with 16 points, while Taylor Hoffbeck added 14 points and Alex Swan chipped in 11 points and three steals. Parker Lanoue had a double-double for T-M-B (3-0, 2-0), scoring 10 points and dishing out 10 assists.

T-M-B will take on Russell-Tyler-Ruthton Friday.

Girls Basketball

Luverne 35, Ellsworth 27

ELLSWORTH -- Behind 15 points from Megan Peterson, the Luverne girls' basketball team took home a win on the road Monday.

Amber Walkowiak (eight points) led the way for Ellsworth (1-3).

Luverne will take on Fulda Saturday and Ellsworth will play Red Rock Central today on the road.

ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa -- Central Lyon's girls' basketball team keeps plugging along, starting Monday's Siouxland matchup on a 17-4 run enroute to winning its fourth straight game.

Lexi Ackerman led the way for CL (6-1, 5-1), scoring 16 points to go along with five steals and four assists. Kori Schulte added six rebounds for CL.

Skylar Hansen had nine points to lead Okoboji (3-4, 2-4).

Central Lyon will take on Boyden-Hull Friday on the road.
