PREP BOYS' BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Kilgore leads Adrian past Ellsworth

ADRIAN -- Kyle Kilgore had a monster performance, scoring 34 points, hauling in 18 rebounds and forcing three steals to lead Adrian's boys' basketball team over Ellsworth 69-58 Saturday in a Red Rock Conference showdown.


Kody Henning had 13 points and three steals, Taylor Recker had nine points and Brandon Weidert had eight points and seven rebounds to help lead Adrian (8-8, 7-3). The Dragons shot 51 percent from inside the arc to Ellsworth's 36 percent. The Panthers were just 6-of-30 shooting from beyond the 3-point line.

Casey Schilling led the way for Ellsworth (10-7, 4-5) with 23 points, seven rebounds and four assists. Nick Nolte added 12 points and Dalton Huisman had nine points and three assists.

Ellsworth will host Red Rock Central and Adrian will travel to Westbrook-Walnut Grove Tuesday.

LAMBERTON -- It was all Red Rock Central (7-8, 6-3) Saturday in boys' basketball action, as Henry Rogotzke had 22 points and 10 rebounds, Daniel Maras had 10 points, 13 rebounds and 10 assists and Jeff DeCock had 13 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Falcons.

Alex Knutson led Westbrook-Walnut Grove (1-14, 0-9) with 11 points.

RRC will be at Ellsworth Tuesday.

SIBLEY, Iowa -- Caleb Hartwig had 20 points, including Sibley-Ocheyedan's first 15 points, and six rebounds, Harrison Feldkamp had 12 points and 12 rebounds and Pat Alexander had 11 points and nine assists to lead S-O's boys' basketball team Saturday.

Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn was led by Blake Simons (19 points).

SLAYTON -- Chris Halbur had a double-double (21 points, 11 rebounds), Nate Wieneke had eight points, eight assists and seven steals and Sam Beech had 14 points and seven rebounds to lead Murray County Central's boys' basketball team over Mountain Lake/Butterfield-Odin Saturday.

ML/B-O was led by Beau Herrig's double-double (23 points, 18 rebounds) and Carter Kirk (seven points, 11 rebounds).

LUVERNE -- Luverne's boys' basketball team was led by Brett Heronimus' 14 points, six assists, five rebounds and four blocks, Devin Heitkamp's 17 points and six rebounds and nine points each from Alex Weis and Josh Slieter (seven rebounds) Saturday in its victory over Saint James.

ROUND LAKE -- Jameson Collin had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Luke Henkels had 11 points to lead Southwest Star Concept (10-5, 5-4) in the Red Rock Conference clash in boys' basketball action Saturday.

Jake Walker had 21 points and seven steals, while Kurt Schmitz had three points and six rebounds and Darrin Schmitz had two points and six steals and Colin Meinders hauled in six rebounds for Round-Lake Brewster (1-14, 1-8).

R-LB will host Fulda and SSC will host Southwest Christian Tuesday.
