ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa -- Jordan Gacke accounted for five touchdowns to lead Central Lyon/George-Little Rock to a 35-7 victory against Unity Christian Friday night in a 2A District 1 football game.

Gacke rushed for 114 yards on 13 carries and threw for 71 yards on five completions, with three touchdowns coming through the air.

Gacke scored on a 6-yard run to open the game, and then found Tyler Starr for a 7-yard pass in the first quarter as the Lions (3-0, 1-0) had a 14-0 lead after the first quarter.

CL/G-LR added two more touchdowns in the second quarter, as Gacke threw for a 11 and 33-yard passes as the Lions had a 28-0 lead at the break.

Gacke then found paydirt again in the third quarter from four yards out as the Lions cruised to a 35-7 victory.

Sam Halse had 53 yards receiving, while Scott Eben had 70 yards on 14 carries.

Defensively, Eben had nine assists and three solo tackles, while Starr had six assists, two solo tackles and a sack. Gacke added 12 total tackles for the Lions, who will travel to Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley Friday.

S-O 14, Western Christian 6

HULL, Iowa -- Craig Hertz did a little of everything for the Generals Friday night.

Hertz blocked a punt that set up a 3-yard touchdown run by Cody Dirks, and then found the endzone himself from 20 yards out to lead Sibley-Ocheyedan to its first victory of the season.

Hertz had a sack and 17 total tackles defensively, and had 86 yards rushing on 14 carries for the Generals (1-2, 1-0).

Western Christian, which scored on a 25-yard interception return for a touchdown, was limited to a mere 77 total yards in the game.

Kyle Trierweiler had 12 total tackles for the General defense, while Levi Hibma and Jay Kruger each had a sack.

S-O will host Spirit Lake Friday.

Sheldon 24, Sioux Center 13

SIOUX CENTER, Iowa -- Nic Meendering ran for a touchdown and threw for a touchdown as Sheldon defeated Sioux Center in a Class 2A District 1 game Friday night.

Sheldon, which scored six points in every quarter, scored first on a 3-yard run by Meendering.

Garrett Crowl, who rushed for 86 yards on 18 carries, scored on a 2-yard run as the Orabs (2-1, 1-0) had a 12-7 lead at halftime.

Meendering found Taylor Zeutenhorst in the endzone from four yards out in the third quarter, and Crowl scored on a 5-yard scamper in the fourth to lead the Orabs to victory.

On the night, Meendering had 59 yards rushing and 104 yards passing, with 63 of those yards going to Andy Goeb.

Defensively, Bret Doorenbos blocked a punt and had 14 total tackles for the Orabs, who will host Western Christian for homecoming Friday.

GILMORE CITY, Iowa -- Kyle Jacobsen threw for 284 yards and two touchdowns and also contributed a pair of TDs on the ground, but the Wolves (1-2) fell on the road.

Mychal Sheridan ran 26 times for 102 yards and had a 7-yard scoring run for H-LP. He also took a screen pass from Jacobsen and took it for a 73-yard touchdown.

Jacobsen's two scoring runs each came from two yards out. He completed 15 of 30 passes in the game.

Kyle Kruger was Jacobsen's favorite target, catching eight throws for 129 yards.

The Wolves travel to Graettinger-Terril next Friday.
