ROCK RAPIDS, Iowa -- Tyler Starr caught a 19-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter and the Central Lyon/George-Little Rock Lions rolled to a 42-0 victory against Sioux Center in a Class 2A District 1 football game Friday night.


Dylan Reynolds (seven carries, 48 yards rushing) scored on a 28-yard run in the second quarter, and Jordan Gacke (11 rushes, 37 yards, 7-for-11 passing, 152 yards, one touchdown) scored on a 1-yard scamper as the Lions (5-0, 3-0) had a 21-0 lead at the break.

Reynolds scored on a 4-yard run, and Brandon Koel had a 1-yard dive as CL/G-LR cruised to a 42-point victory.

Starr had 81 yards receiving on three catches, while Derek Johnson had 66 receiving yards.

Defensively, Gacke had 13 total tackles, while Starr had 10 total tackles and an interception. Ethan Hopp had 10 tackles, while Koel had an interception. Nate Herman had two fumble recoveries for the Lions, who will host Western Christian in CL/G-LR's homecoming game Friday.

LAURENS, Iowa -- Laurens-Marathon scored 41 points in the first half and went on to a big victory Friday night in an 8-man football game.

The Wolves (1-4, 0-2) had 87 total yards, with only 10 yards on the ground.

Kyle Jacobsen was 11-for-15 passing for 77 yards, while Luke Bosma had 32 yards receiving on four catches. Kyle Kruger had 13 receiving yards.

Mychal Sheridan had 14 receiving yards.

H-LP will be at Armstrong-Ringsted Friday.

SIBLEY, Iowa -- Greg Hiemstra threw for 177 yards and two touchdowns for Sibley-Ocheyedan, but it was Unity Christian that came away with a 13-point victory Friday night in a Class 2A District 1 football game.

Hiemstra connected with Marshall Doeden (three catches, 72 yards) on a 31-yard strike in the second quarter, and later found Ryan Soat for a 5-yard touchdown pass.

Levi Hibma (11 tackles) had a 46-yard fumble return for a touchdown, but it wasn't enough as UC went on to the victory.

Brian Block had 13 total tackles, while Craig Hertz had 12.

Cody Dirks (27 yards), Hiemstra (24 yards) and Hertz (15 yards) led the Generals' ground attack.

Hertz also had 88 yards receiving to lead S-O, which will travel to Sioux Center Friday.

SHELDON, Iowa -- Scoring a pair of first-half touchdowns, the Boyden-Hull/Rock Valley Knighthawks took a 14-0 lead on Sheldon and held off the Orabs to gain a Class 2A, District 1 victory.

The combination of Josh Mouw (10 carries, 73 yards) and Keaton Greavengood (14 carries, 65 yards) led the Knighthawk ground attack, which gained 161 yards total.

Mouw scored on a 56-yard TD burst in the second quarter.

B-H/RV quarterback Marcus Heemstra passed for 115 yards and capped a Knighthawk drive with a 1-yard run in the first quarter.

Sheldon gained 100 yards through the air, but the Orabs (2-3, 1-2) were held to 32 yards rushing by the Knighthawks (2-3, 1-2).

Taylor Zeutenhorst connected with Tony Rodger on a 63-yard touchdown play early in the fourth quarter to spark Sheldon's comeback attempt.

But the Orabs were unable to sustain another drive.

Sheldon linebacker Bret Doorenbos had a big night for the Orab defense, finishing with 11 solo tackles and three assists.

Garrett Crowl recovered a fumble for the Orabs, who play at Spirit Lake Friday.
