Prep girls basketball: Cheadle helps Fulda top W-WG
WESTBROOK — Junior guard Sariah Cheadle scored 33 points — close to half her team’s total — and the Fulda High School girls basketball team defeated host Westbrook-Walnut Grove Thursday night, 71-48.
Melissa Gehl added 17 points for the Raiders in the non-conference game. The victors led 30-17 at halftime and never looked back as they saddled the Chargers with their second loss in as many games played.
Elizabeth Woelber tallied 16 points for Westbrook-Walnut Grove while teammates McKenzie Deprez, Mady Johnson and Emma Woelber each added eight. Dayna Comnick helped the cause with 16 rebounds and six blocks.

Edgerton 49, Adrian 37
EDGERTON — Mia Wassink’s 20 points and 12 rebounds helped Edgerton defeat Adrian in the season opener for both teams. Tanner Gunnink helped with 12 points and 10 boards.
Elizabeth Thier scored 10 points for Adrian.
Edgerton connected on 21 of 54 field goals and five of 15 free throws. Adrian converted 10 of 48 field goals and 17 of 27 charity tosses for the game.

Luverne 54, JCC 50
JACKSON — With just two minutes to play, Jackson County Central drew into a 50-50 tie with Southwest Conference rival Luverne. But the Cardinals scored the game’s final four points to prevail.
Kaylee Burmeister led the Huskies with 21 points. Teammate Sydney Eddy had 13.

LAKE PARK, Iowa — Abby Taylor scored 17 points to lead Okoboji to a 57-52 victory over Harris-Lake Park.
Okoboji (3-0) won despite trailing 32-28 at halftime and 46-41 after three quarters.
Noreen Morrow paced the Wolves with 23 points and 11 rebounds.
Miranda Brueggeman added 11 points while Macy Gunderson contributed nine points and six assists.
The loss evens Harris-Lake Park’s record at 2-2.
