In addition to Kinley's 34.675 atop the all-around, Worthington's Maria Contreras finished second with a 33.05 and Whitney Jensen placed third with a 32.975. Pipestone Area's Tiffany Woelber claimed fourth place in the all-around with a 30.875.

"We had a good team effort," Trojans head coach Joni Reitmeier said of Friday's meet. "The girls were strong on the bars, floor and vault, but we struggled on the balance beam with seven falls, which is way too many.

"Anna Koepsell suffered a minor injury during her floor routine and that hurt us on the beam. Anna's one of our top performers on the beam, but hopefully she can recover and get back out there for us."

Despite Worthington's struggles on the beam, the team placed 3 of 4 with Jensen winning with an 8.35. Kinley followed in second with a 7.85 and Contreras was fourth with a 7.55.

Kinley and Contreras each placed first in the vault with identical scores of 8.85, while Liz Hayenga claimed fourth with an 8.775.

The Trojans swept the top 4 spots on the bars and the floor events.

On the bars, Kinley earned the top spot with an 8.55. Contreras (7.9), Koepsell (7.75) and Stephanie Jaycox (7.725) all followed Kinley's mark.

Kinley's 9.425 mark during the floor routine was followed by Jensen's 8.8, Contreras' 8.75 and Hayenga's 8.25.

"Coming off of season-high of 137 points against Luverne, we took a bit of step back in our overall scoring (Friday night)," Reitmeier added. "But we know what we need to do to get back that level.

"We have a few more practices to get ready for Jackson County Central on Tuesday."

The Southwest Conference gymnastics championship will be on the line when the Trojans host the Huskies on Tuesday.

Worthington's junior varsity defeated Pipestone Area's with a score of 123.15-93.6.
