"It was a big meet for us," WHS coach Joni Reitmeier said. "Windom/Mountain Lake is a good team, but it was a little closer of a meet than we would have liked."

The Trojans came away with 132.850 points as a team, while the Cobras were only two points behind with a team score of 130.750.

"I think we did well today," Windom/Mountain Lake coach Cheryl Bass said. "We knew it would be a tight meet, but it was still really fun."

"The younger girls are getting better and are stepping up big for us," Reitmeier said. "They have really helped the team out and just keep improving competition to competition."

Behind Kinley, who scored an 9.050, in the vault was Bolin with an 8.925 and Contreras with an 8.900 to take second and third respectively. Megan Muller rounded out the top four with an 8.700.

"We knew it would be a battle," Bass said. "We are just trying to increase our scores every meet and keep improving as a team."

The Trojans head to Jackson to take part in the Jackson County Central Sweetheart Tournament Saturday, Jan. 19, while the Cobras take on Blue Earth Area in Blue Earth.
