Prep Softball: SWU falls to M/T in softball

MADELIA -- Ida Rogers-Ferguson pitched five and one-third innings with six strikeouts and three walks for the Southwestern United Wildcats in an 8-7 loss to the Madelia/Truman Jayhawks Friday.

The Jayhawks led 7-2 through four innings, but the Wildcats exploded with five runs in the fifth to tie the game at seven. SWU took the lead in the sixth after scoring a run; however, M/F scored twice in the bottom of the seventh to get the win.

Elizabeth Rossow went 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a double to lead the Wildcats at the plate. Rachel Mathias was also 3-for-4 on the day, while Megan Haberman went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs.

Southwestern United (2-5) travels to Edgerton/Southwest Christian Monday for a doubleheader.
